My life experiences have been centered on English, which is a fascinating language and powerful communication tool. I love the English language and I believe that composition skills are essential for critical thinking and analysis. Similarly, English literature is a means to understanding history and socio-cultural issues. The literary canon is an essential stepping stone to knowing and appreciating our past and having the ability to make decisions about the future.
